SNOWMASS' WINTERSKÖL FESTIVITIES INCLUDE POPULAR RETURNING RAIL JAM COMPETITION AND FIREWORKS

Snowmass, Colo. -- Snowmass Village offers up a "sköl" or "toast" to winter on January 9 with the second Wintersköl Rail Jam at Snowmass as part of the 58th annual Wintersköl celebration in Aspen/Snowmass. Begun in 1951 by Aspen locals searching for a unique way to celebrate the valley's Nordic lifestyle, Wintersköl now encompasses four days of zany winter events in Aspen/Snowmass from January 8-11.

"We're thrilled to be a part of the Wintersköl festivities and look forward to the return of the popular rail jam and a day of fun Snowmass-style," says Susan Hamley, Marketing Director for Snowmass Village.

The second annual Wintersköl Rail Jam at Snowmass embraces athletes of all levels and abilities and takes place on Fanny Hill. Cash prize payouts are based on entries and awarded for first, second and third place. Giveaways and music keep the high energy vibe flowing throughout the practice and competition. The Winterskol Rail Jam is followed up by a brilliant fireworks display over Fanny Hill.

Come for the Wintersköl Rail Jam at Snowmass and stay on for après-ski in the new $1 billion Base Village. Dine at one of Snowmass' nearly thirty restaurants, including new restaurants The Sweet Life, Sneaky's Tavern and Junk in the new Base Village and The Office at The Cirque and Nardi's on the Snowmass Village Mall.
